The Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU) is now accepting applications for the 2025 European Court of Auditors (ECA) Postgraduate Research Grants.

The ECA research grant programme supports early-career academics interested in the history of European Union public finance or policy, broadly defined. The grants facilitate consultation of the holdings of the HAEU in Florence, Italy, which include the archives of the Court of Auditors and its predecessor organisation, the Audit Board.

Now in its nineteenth year, the grant programme is open to graduate researchers and early-career academics from a range of disciplines, including law, political science, economics, sociology, public administration, and history. Previous projects have explored topics such as EU development policy, funding priorities in environmental initiatives, the evolution of audit methodology, changing budgetary rules, and regional policy.

In 2025, up to two grants of €5,000 each will be awarded.

Complete information on eligibility and conditions can be found here.

The deadline for applications is 6 October 2025.
