The Archives has inventoried and opened for consultation the collection of the European Commission’s newsletter the Staff Courier (1967 – 1991).

The Courier was launched in September 1967 when the executives of the then-Communities were merged into the single Commission.  With several issues per month coordinated by an editorial board, the Courier was the main organ for disseminating information of interest to officials of all the institutions: significant community policy events, changes to the status and working conditions of agents and information useful to community life.

The newsletter is composed of sections dedicated to editorials, news, reportage, sports and leisure, union information, social activities, classified ads, a readers' mailbox, and official information including vacancies and other administrative information.

The bulletin also contains photographs, such as portraits of new members of the Commission and senior officials, official events and community life.

The Staff Courier collection is part of the private archives deposited by the family of Georg Pröpstl, a German physicist (1919 – 2012) who was director of Euratom’s Eurisotop office from 1961 to 1976.
