Biography

Dr Lisa-Marie Lührs is a Visiting Fellow at the EUI’s Law Department and a post-doctoral researcher at Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany at the Chair of Public Law and European Law. In the summer term 2023 she held an Interim Junior Professorship for Public Law at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, teaching German administrative law. She has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison, USA in 2021 and 2020. In 2020, she received her doctorate from the University of Cologne, Germany with a thesis on European fundamental rights protection against so-called Dublin transfers within the Common European Asylum System in the context of the principle of mutual trust. During her legal clerkship, she worked at the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. Studying law at the Georg-August-University Göttingen, Germany and the Université de Bourgogne in Dijon, France, she completed her studies with the First Legal State Examination and an additional Master's degree in European Law (Magister Legum Europae).
