Data Protection and Ethical Use

Access to, and use of, research data is subject to the EUI Data Protection Policy, President's Decision No.10/2019, which is binding on all EUI members
Scholars must abide by the Library's Terms and Conditions for access to, and use of, electronic resources
Data protection obligations are given in the Guide on Good Data Protection Practice in Research and the Code of Ethics in Academic Research. Obligations must be observed by all EUI data users in order to avoid disciplinary sanctions, and/or the loss of access to research data by the EUI community

The 11^th edition of the EUI Library Research Data Guide was published in 2023 providing information about data discovery, data use and data preservation

The EUI Library Data Portal provides access to licensed macro-economic, micro-socioeconomic and Europe-related databases. 72 data resource guides provide information on coverage, variables and user networks. The Data Portal also provides information about the Library's restricted micro data server.

The EUI Library provides support throughout the research data lifecycle, providing assistance with data management plans (DMPs); data protection and copyright; metadata and data support for EU-funded research projects.

EUI members can submit their research datasets for inclusion in the EUI Research Data collection in the Cadmus repository. To submit a dataset for inclusion, please complete the Library's online form.
