Background
Most researchers aspire to disseminate their findings by writing books and publishing journal articles for the academic community. Many target peer-reviewed academic journals with a high ‘Impact Factor’ to raise their academic profile. However, communicating our research effectively beyond our academic audience is also important, especially for reaching those stakeholders who help to fund our research. During the Covid19 pandemic, we have seen researchers’ communication skills being tested as they have been challenged to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively to non-specialist audiences.
What you will learn
This workshop addresses some of the above-mentioned issues and aims to equip researchers with the skills they need and raise their confidence in using innovative approaches to reach a broader audience.
