Copyright policy
The EUI Library is committed to upholding copyright law and complying with licence agreements for purchased resources. At the same time, it aims to protect the academic community’s rights to make lawful, limited use of copyrighted works for educational and research purposes.
This policy applies to all EUI members using copyrighted works, in print, electronic, or other formats, for research, teaching, or work-related activities.
Copyright law and licence agreements generally forbid the reproduction of copyrighted materials without the permission of the rights holder. However, limited use of such works for teaching and research is allowed under specific circumstances, as described below.
EUI members may reproduce copyrighted materials for personal, research, or educational purposes within the limits set by Italian Law No. 633/1941 (as amended by Legislative Decree 177/2021), Directive (EU) 2019/790, and the licence agreements signed by the EUI Library. The Library shall not be held responsible for any infringement of copyright laws by its users.
