The universities do not provide information on changes to the hiring of new academic workers. It is possible that decisions will be evaluated on a case by case basis. It must be noted that the Baltic countries are advanced in terms of digital technologies. Therefore, public institutions are equipped to manage the effects of the crisis on the educational system. Special calls To our knowledge, the departments of History and Social Sciences have not yet focused their research extensively on the Covid-19 crisis. The University of Tartu has participated in international studies on the Covid-19 crisis that might open up the possibilities for future projects. Conversely, the Estonian Research Council opened a call but it is targeted to private companies that aim to do research on the Covid-19 crisis.
