Impact of Covid-19 on the Norwegian Academic Job Market in the Social Sciences and Humanities

Public institutions do not provide clear information on the freezing of academic positions or the postponement of hiring. Conversely, there is information on the extension of current PhD or postdoc positions. The evidence suggests that new hiring is evaluated on a case by case basis and that academics in Norway are well protected during periods of crisis.

The Research Council of Norway opened a call for research on Covid-19. There might be openings of job positions in the social sciences related to these projects.
