Logistical Information and access Policy

The June Ball will take place at the Badia Fiesolana on 16 June 2023 with doors opening at 20:00.

On 16 June all administrative and academic activities at the Badia must conclude by 18:00, when the building will be closed. The building will be then accessible only to holders of June Ball tickets, upon the demonstration of a valid photo ID, from 20:00 onwards.

The checkpoints for tickets will be:

  • Main Entrance Badia Church Square;
  • Junction between the internal road to Villa Schifanoia and Carpark 1;
  • Villa Sanfelice gate.

For entry, June Ball participants must show their ticket with a corresponding valid Photo ID (e.g. EUI card, driving license) at one of the two checkpoints. Persons without a ticket and/or without a valid photo ID will not be admitted to the Ball, with no exceptions.

Car access to the Badia will only be possible through the gate located in Via dei Roccettini 11 (Ponte alla Badia gate). The gate will be open (no EUI card necessary to drive in) until 01:00. After 01:00, the gate will be closed and an EUI card will be necessary to open it. The walking path, as well as the internal road from Villa Schifanoia to the Badia car parks, will be open and monitored by GPG Guards and it will be used for car exit only.

Available car parks, on a first-come first-served basis, will be P1-P2-P3 at the Badia and the car park of Villa Schifanoia, accessible from Via Boccaccio 111,  where GPG Guards will monitor the access. Should the parking lots be full, we suggest parking on the street in San Domenico or on Via Faentina.

Due to the limited availability of parking spaces, we strongly advise participants to use public transportation or taxis to reach the Badia Fiesolana.

On the night of the June Ball, the EUI will run night shuttle buses from 23:00 to 05:00:

During the Ball it will be possible to leave and re-enter the Badia (not after 1:00 am) through the main entrance located on the church square. To do so, be sure to request a plastic bracelet from the guards in the Church square. You will be allowed to re-enter the June ball only if you show your ticket, your valid photo ID, and the bracelet. No exceptions will be made for people attempting to enter without these items.

After 1:00 am it will not be allowed to re-enter the Badia.

During the Ball all internal and external areas will be monitored by GPG Guards, who are entitled to ask for identification documents from anyone found in non-authorised areas. Please collaborate with these persons as they are here to ensure the safety and security of participants.
