Handsets Overview

EUI telephones are based on VoIP phones with display and provide for the following functions:

  • Identifying internal or external calls; when available, caller’s identifier is displayed  
  • Recording history of inbound and outbound calls
  • Warning of missed calls and recording history of missed calls
  • Locking and unlocking the telephone by using a personal PIN code
  • Logging into any telephone within the campus using your username and your PIN code, being able to make and receive calls with your extension number

 

Two phone models are currently in use: CISCO 7800 and CISCO 8800. The version installed on your desk will depend on (additional) functionalities you may require.

 

CISCO 8800 series telephone’s practical features:

  • Forward Call: look at the section “Forward All Calls” in the Quick Start Guide.
  • Pick-Up Group (available on request): the Group Call Pickup feature allows users belonging to a specific group to pick up incoming calls by pressing the Pickup Softkey.
  • Directory: look at the section “Your Phone” and the description of the button number 8 in the Quick Start Guide.
