How to Disable Clutter

Clutter is an Office 365 mailbox management feature intended to help you focus on the most important incoming messages by moving lower priority messages from your Inbox to a folder named “Clutter”. Clutter analyzes how you process your email, in order to try to determine the messages you are likely to ignore. As presumably less important messages arrive, they are automatically moved to the Clutter folder.

If you are not happy with the functioning of this feature, you can turn it off via the WebMail (OWA). (Clutter cannot be managed from within Outlook.)

  • Sign in to WebMail.

  • On the navigation bar, go to SettingsClutter_Settings > Mail > Automatic processing > Clutter.

  • Unselect Separate items identified as clutter.

  • Save Clutter_Save.

The Clutter folder remains in Outlook even after you turn the feature off.
