The EUI choir is a group of friendly and enthusiastic singers. The choir is open to EVERYONE, from beginners to more advanced singers. So feel free to come even if you NEVER sang in a Choir before. Our Choir Director Valerio del Piccolo, is fun to work with and is a terrific musical trainer who treats all voices equally with the utmost respect. and shows you how to best use your voice. We are a cohesive group and we enjoy sharing our passion for music. Dedicated, we strive to improve without forgetting that music must be first about sharing the joy of singing together!

Repertoire

In the past, we have sung music by baroque composers (e.g. Vivaldi, Purcell, Handel, Bach, Charpentier); German romantic composers such as Mendelssohn and Brahms; late XIX.- beginning XX. century music such as Hindemith, Poulenc, Holst, as well as more contemporary composers (Finzi, Britten, Tavener, Lindberg).

And you can listen and watch the EUI Choir singing Lilia Nympha Colit.

Auditions

Every year around mid-September, before regular Choir activities officially begin, a very simple audition (i.e. singing a few scales) takes place for new Choir Members. Former Members of the Choir who do not take singing lessons may also participate on a voluntary basis. The purpose of the audition is simply to determine your singing voice type and its potential, as well as to give the Director a better picture of the number and types of voices in the Choir.

Extra Courses

For Members of the Choir who aspire to improve their musical skills, small courses to support learning and discovery of music and singing will be organised all throughout the academic year. These include individual singing classes and music reading sessions.
