Non-Chargeable Equipment & Services

The following services are provided free of charge:

 

 

Video Conferences


  • Video Conferencing over ISDN (H.320 standard) is only available in: Cappella (VS), Sala del Capitolo (BF) and Conference Room (VLF);
  • Video Conferencing over IP (H.323 standard) is available in: Sala del Capitolo (BF), Refectory (BF), Seminar Room 3 (BF), Seminar Room 4 (BF), Teatro (BF), PCR (BF), Seminar Room (SD), Cappella (VS), Seminar Room A (VLF), Seminar Room 2nd floor (VLF), Meeting Room (VRAI), Seminar Room 2 (VSP), Meeting Room (VP), Training Room (VP);
  • Reserve the room at least 14 days before the event in the Events application (in case of last minute and/or unforeseen requests please write immediately to Luca Di Rocco);
  • Book the room to check the connection and make a test call 2 days before the event;
  • Send to Tecnico Sale e-mail address & telephone (fixed and mobile) contacts of any external technician involved;
  • If problems arise the external technician shall contact directly Tecnico Sale.

 

Audio Conference with a Portable Digital Hybrid


  • Reserve the Room at least 14 days before the event in the Events application (in case of last minute and/or unforeseen requests please write immediately to Luca Di Rocco);
  • Book the room for the technician to check the connection 2 days before the event;
  • Send to Tecnico Sale e-mail address & telephone (fixed and mobile) contacts of any external technician involved;
  • If problems arise the external technician shall contact directly Tecnico Sale

 

Audio and Video Conference with SKYPE


  • Reserve the Room at least 7 days before the event in the Events application (in case of last minute and/or unforeseen requests please write immediately to Luca Di Rocco), specifying that it is a SKYPE conference in the Note for Logistics section;
  • Book the room for the technician to check the connection 2 days before the event;
  • Send to Tecnico Sale e-mail address & telephone (fixed and mobile) contacts of any external technician involved;
  • If problems arise the external technician shall contact directly Tecnico Sale.

 

Internet Access on Seminar Laptop


  • Only available for the speaker in all Conference Rooms;
  • No EUI computing account necessary (laptop already configured for LAN or WiFi access);

 

Wireless Internet Access for External Participants


  • Only for external speakers and/or participants for their own laptops in a specific seminar & conference room;
  • All equipped rooms allow 25 simultaneous accesses (theatre allows 50);

IMPORTANT: always check WiFi availibility for the room you have booked.

Wifi Guest accounts must be set up first: please use this online form to request guest accounts at least 14 days before the event.

Following information is required:

  • Name of conference
  • Date/s of conference
  • Organizer (person in charge)
  • Number of participants
  • Name and Surname of participants

Single WiFi guest accounts can be requested by authorized staff on the following link.

The ICT will get back to the organizer with the paperwork (Login & Password info for participants, EUI Data Protection Policy & Configuration instructions for supported operating systems).

Copies of above mentioned documents should be distributed at the same time.

Please note: support for WiFi configuration on guest laptops can NOT be provided directly by Tecnico Sale and/or IT User Support Staff. Participants in need of assistance mey visit one of the Portable Device Support desks on a "first-come first-served" basis. Please click here to check availibility and office hours.  

 

Laptops in Conference Rooms


Conference room laptops are provided with following software:

  • Windows XP SP3 or Windows 7 Pro
  • Antivirus
  • Microsoft Office 2010
  • Power DVD DX
  • Video Lan
  • Media Player
  • CD Burner XP
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader

Requests for additional/other software shall be made at least 14 days before the event in the Events application (Section: Note for Logistics), or directly to Tecnico Sale (ext. 2309), who will consider the request with the ICT Service.

Suggested file format for presentations is Adobe Acrobat (PDF file).

Users are advised to give a copy of their presentation to Tecnico Sale (ext. 2309) for testing on the conference room laptop well before the event.

Please note: Mac users are warned that seminar laptops accept pendrives and/or external hard disks formatted in FAT (Windows) mode ONLY. Mac mode (HFS) is NOT supported !
