Computing Accounts

EUI personal Computing Accounts are given to individuals to allow access to, among other services and facilities:

All ICT facilities, including those listed above (except EUI email), require you to provide your EUI username (e.g. jsmith) and password [1].

To access your EUI email via Outlook Web App (OWA) you should use the full email address (e.g. [email protected]) and password to log in.

Eligible Individuals

To qualify for an EUI computing account you must be one of the following:

  • Researcher
  • Fellow
  • Academic Staff
  • Administrative Staff
  • Visitor (for at least 4 weeks [2])

The relevant contact in your Department, Programme, Project or Service will issue a formal request [3] to the ICT Service to set up an account on your behalf.

Please refrain from directly contacting ICT Service and/or EUI Helpdesk to request the creation of a computing account!

Account Information Sheet

Once an account has been created, the details (including login name, temporary password and EUI email address) will be given to you in the form of an Account Information Sheet upon arrival at the EUI:

  • Researchers, Jean Monnet Fellows and Max Weber Fellows: this will be at the beginning of the Academic Year on Registration Day, however, if you arrive late then you will need to contact the Academic Service
  • Fernand Braudel and Visiting Fellows: by the Welcome Unit
  • Academic and Administrative Staff or Visitors: by your Department, Programme, Project or Service of affiliation.

First Login (Account Activation)

Once the Account Information Sheet has been issued to you, follow instructions for your First Login to change password and activate your account.

Account Renewal

Computing accounts are renewed automatically on the basis of EUI status information provided by Academic Service, Personnel Service, Departments, Robert Schuman Centre, Max Weber Programme.

Any Print Quotas will be checked and recalculated according to Printing Policy (Real Estate and Facilities Service).

[1] = Depending on the Operating system you are using, some resources (like VPN, EUI-WiFi, Personal, Web and Shared Areas, Network Printers) may require you to specify the Institute's network domain, IUEDOM.
Whenever requested, this should be written and/or chosen in the "Domain" field. If no such field is available, the username should be written in the following format:

iuedom\your_EUI_username

[2] = If you do not qualify for an EUI personal computing account then the Secretary of your Department, Programme, Project or Service can arrange a Guest Account for you.

[3] = Note that the ICT is only authorized to set up an account when it receives a formal request, so please do not contact ICT Service nor EUI Helpdesk directly regarding account creation.
